Isanlu, Kogi State – A major political gathering in Yagba Federal Constituency took on the atmosphere of an early campaign rally as prominent opposition figures officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The event, attended by former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, served as a strong show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated 2027 re-election bid.

In his address, Yahaya Bello warmly welcomed the new APC members and immediately framed their defection as part of a broader movement to secure victory for President Tinubu in the next general elections. The former governor praised Tinubu’s leadership, asserting that the president’s accomplishments in just two years had surpassed what some administrations achieved in eight.
“We are the real coalition,” Bello declared confidently, dismissing any threats from opposition alliances. “When the time comes, we will prove our strength decisively.” His speech struck a combative yet optimistic tone, promising to lead an aggressive grassroots campaign across every community to ensure the president’s success.

The event reached a symbolic climax as Bello led the crowd in singing the familiar refrain “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” a deliberate nod to Tinubu’s longstanding political legacy. This moment of unity underscored the party’s strategy of blending nostalgia with forward-looking confidence in the APC’s governance agenda.
