KOGI STATE FARMERS RECEIVE BOOST From RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE

The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has launched a groundbreaking agricultural support program in Kogi State, aimed at empowering women and youth farmers. The program, inaugurated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and represented by Kogi State’s First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, seeks to transform the state’s agricultural sector and improve livelihoods.
The initiative provides essential inputs and equipment to farmers, including agrochemicals, financial support, and training. Specifically, the program will benefit 33 women farmers with multipurpose processing machines, 25 women poultry entrepreneurs with broiler production inputs, 36 youth farmers with improved seeds, fertilizers, and equipment for maize and cassava cultivation, 25 home gardeners with improved vegetable seeds and organic fertilizers, and 150 students from 15 secondary schools with support for maize and cassava production.
The program aligns with the Kogi State Government’s commitment to achieving food security and promoting economic growth. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration has demonstrated its dedication to agriculture, recently distributing fertilizers to farmers across the state. The RHI Agricultural Support Programme is designed to plant hope and foster a brighter future for Kogi State’s communities. By empowering women and youth farmers, the initiative aims to increase food production, promote economic growth, and contribute to national food security.
The program is a testament to the power of collaboration between government agencies, stakeholders, and communities. The Renewed Hope Initiative’s agricultural support program is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
Beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s agricultural support program have expressed their gratitude and satisfaction with the impact it has had on their lives. “The Renewed Hope Initiative has really helped me increase my crop yields and income. I will now be able to support my household better,” said Mr. John Omale, a young farmer from Dekina Local Government.
Oyiza Muhammad from Okene echoed similar sentiments, stating, “I’m grateful to Her Excellency for this wonderful opportunity. The program is a game-changer for me.”
