
Kogi State Government Approves 50% subsidy on health insurance premium deductions for Civil servants in the State in the next one year.Despite the Consistent 5% Employer Contribution of State Government to the Formal Sector Health Insurance Plan for Civil Servants in the State which has been implemented in the State to provide financial risk protection to civil servants and their dependents.
Furthermore, as contained in the MoU signed between the State Government and the Organized Labour in the State, it is expected that the initial 1.75% employee contribution of each civil servant basic salary will be increased to 3.5% when the State Government commences the implementation of the new minimum wage.
However, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo the chief servant of Kogi State has directed the State Health Insurance Agency to Continue the 1.75% Employee Premium deduction instead of 3.5% for the Next one year in addition to the tax waiver earlier given on the new minimum wage addition to ensure the civil servants enjoy their new minimum wage and the prescribed health insurance plan.
Governor Ododo in his remark emphasize the need for civil servants to remain committed in the discharge of their duty due to the enabling environment provided to them while the state ministry of health continues to improve on provision of quality healthcare service delivery to the people.
